An eye-catching corporate identity for a brand new business

Icon is a new company specialising in producing analytical software for the oil refinery industry. As with any new business it was vital for Icon to make an instant impact on the industry when it launched… which is why they turned to Fathom for help.

We wanted to make sure their identity portrayed the technical side of the business, as well as their more chemistry-focused work – which can include very specific tasks such as measuring molecules within a hidden pipe. So the identity we developed incorporates an icon that is both a flame and a droplet of oil or water. We call it the ’FireDrop’. With a strong use of yellow and black, it really stands out as a contemporary and striking design – while a clever use of foil refers to the glossy nature of oil.

Having developed Icon’s identity, we developed brand guidelines and templates and rolled the design out across their brochures.
